A castle where?

Apparently, there's a castle in Napa. Down 29 for a bit, and its not hard to miss. Its, well a castle. Full on moat, drawbridge, chapel, dungeon, ect. For some reason the winery decided to build a huge castle for their production facility. Some of the barrels they had for wine were huge, holding thousands of gallons. Barrels so big they could make do as a really interesting teeny tiny house, or outdoor storage. I was not surprised to hear that Renaissance "parties" go on here as well. But it just has to be a winery, I mean, this is probably the best excuse to go to one. Funny to see that it said "Children from the ages of 0-20" on their admissions information board.

Derailing from this topic, on the way back home I tuned into hate am, I don't know what show it was, some right wing talk host. Personally, I say all parties can go jog off, but that doesn't mean I'm an anarchist, bureaucracy bores me that's all. Hearing some interesting things about the whole debate of whether hes a pure American, yeah, pretty odd. But then against they compared him to Hitler (Insert Godwin's Law here) which usually points to "I have no actual evidence so I'm going to call X a Nazi" I'm going to put my conspiracy mind into motion here and see what turns up. My views before hand of this search: Its not the president causing all the problems, current or latter, its all the lobbyists and those who aren't elected into positions of power. Thus I go into this with hopefully an unbiased mindset.

Gun Sword, Lovecraft, and other things.

This week I've been watching an anime called Gun Sword, honestly its a refreshing new spin on the classic japanese mecha style. Sorta like mecha meets mad max.

On other notes, LOVECRAFT.

The past few months I have been reading H. P. Lovecraft, this guy is amazing. I have no idea how I first got myself to pick up the small "At the Mountains of Madness" story in the library. The scope, the descriptions, the language he uses, it is overwhelming, a near drowning storm of awesomeness. Honestly I felt alot like Mountains of Madness (Taking place in Antarctica with a cyclopean city lost eons ago), was like a whirlwind, a white snowy storm, not knowing exactly what was happening. Then it cleared, and every piece fell together, into place, to reveal a dark and sinister truth. To be honest, Lovecraft does write some very disturbing stuff, things that may keep you up at night. Its well worth reading however, to start, read The Call of Cthulhu then At the Mountains of Madness, or The Shadow over Innsmouth to start.

Lovecraft, though his love live was an oxymoron for his name, himself being not very "active" with his wife, leading to a divorce, had close friends in the liteary world. Though many killed themselves or met certain doom, Lovecraft endured, pouring out his emotions onto paper. At the time of his death, his stories were only to be found in pulp magazines, now days are credited by writers such as Stephen King to be their ultimate inspiration.

Now onto a more brighter subject.

In the past I have written stories, although they contain heavy elements of dystopianism, cover ups, and Lovecraftian elements, even common mythology and rumored lost cities and the such. I decided I will change the flavor around, its time to write something brighter. Though I will have to decide what. I had a recommendation though today. Who knows.

Reboot!

Aug 6 2008? Been nearly a year, I doubt many read this. But to those who do, cheers! Anyways, as in my really old post, I still have web design pumping out many sites. I actually have my own up, which you can check out here! http://antoniowebworks.com/ I may be moving the blog over thataway, a personal site gives so much more freedom!

My few cents on the world today, Obama wont fix anything because the majority of problems are caused by the non-electables in Washington such as lobbyists. The Chinese will rise (I'm not racist, its perfectly plausible with their economic boom, good for them. At least someone is getting somewhere in the world) and we will meet with the Red Army over the mountains of Iran. *Puts on tinfoil hat* In all actuality I expect China to grow, and America to be drained as the economy is balanced across the new powerful nations such as China.

Unexpected Website

So, for this summer, I planned to have no job and enjoy my last non working days. That all turned around when my uncle asked if I wanted to do a website job. So, I accepted, it wasnt much, $125. http://thetrianglellc.com/ So, I went back into hibernation, but not for long, he called again, asking if he could refer me to his freinds if they were intrested in web sites or web site help. So, Mission Neighborhood Centers, a very high profile orginization in San Fransisco, wanted me to revamp their site from this http://www.mncsf.org/ to something better, so I pulled out all the stops. This is my creation, yet I don't know why they wanted a splash, but were gonna soon have a nice flowing flash splash. When its up, I will link it. For my web design, I opt for nice simple toned sites, which are acessible to ALL users, that dont use much processing to render, no flashy flash or mega scripting. The user needs info, and the faster he gets to it, the more he will enjoy it. Thats my philosophy, anways.

Wargame: Domination

This is a wargame that I made, I find it fun and currently it only has land units, and only the basics. I will soon add sea and air and customizable units (make your own). The cool thing about this game is the more you play it, the larger the map gets and the more units there will be. It comes with an easy guide to making your own maps too. Will release Diplomacy II: Combined Forces on the 7th of June 2008! (Click Black Cover to download) (Cover Below)
